# dayCellFormat

In [DayGrid view](daygrid-view.md), controls the date text shown in each day cell.

This affects the `text` value provided to [Day-Cell Render Hooks](day-cell-render-hooks.md). For first-of-month cells in `dayGridYear`, [monthStartFormat](monthStartFormat.md) is used instead.
